Education & Community Infrastructure

Kirkwall Grammar School

Streamline's Northern Isles project experience includes logistics support associated with the development of Kirkwall Grammar School, one of Orkney's most significant public infrastructure investments.

Dounby Community School

Streamline supported the replacement and upgrade of playground facilities at Dounby Community School, transporting new playground equipment from Aberdeen to Orkney and helping create a modern outdoor space for local children.

The Peedie Retreat

Streamline is supporting The Peedie Retreat project at Inganess Beach, Orkney, by providing free transportation for materials, furnishings and specialist equipment for an accessible facility designed to support people living with cancer, MS and MND.

Energy & Industrial Projects

Sullom Voe Oil Terminal

For decades, Streamline has supported logistics associated with one of Europe's most significant oil terminals, providing specialist freight and logistics services to projects operating within the Northern Isles.

Shetland Gas Plant

Streamline's experience also includes major logistics support connected with the Shetland Gas Plant, helping project teams move freight, equipment and specialist cargo between mainland UK, Europe and Shetland.

162-Tonne Heavy Lift Project

One of Streamline's most complex project logistics operations involved the movement of a 162-tonne slugcatcher manifold from Marghera, Italy, to Shetland. The project included barge transfer, chartering of a heavy-lift vessel, specialist planning and SPMT offloading to meet critical construction deadlines.

Keltbray, Flotta

When engineering and construction contractor Keltbray required the movement of heavy plant and machinery to Flotta for oil-terminal decommissioning works, Streamline coordinated the complete logistics solution. Equipment was transported from southern England via Aberdeen, Kirkwall and local ferry services, using low loaders and heavy-haulage equipment to deliver oversized cargo safely to site.

Viking Energy Wind Farm

Streamline's Northern Isles project portfolio includes logistics support associated with Viking Energy Wind Farm, one of the largest onshore wind developments in the UK.

Aerospace & Innovation

SaxaVord Spaceport & HyImpulse

Streamline supports aerospace companies operating from Shetland, including logistics and customs support for HyImpulse and activities connected with SaxaVord Spaceport. The project has involved transporting specialist aerospace equipment between Germany and Shetland while managing complex international freight and customs requirements.

Future Logistics: Drone Delivery Trials

Working alongside Windracers and the Sustainable Aviation Test Environment (SATE) programme, Streamline integrated autonomous cargo-drone operations into its island logistics network. Trials connected Eday, Westray and North Ronaldsay and involved the movement of medical samples, water tests, shellfish and general freight, demonstrating new possibilities for island connectivity.

Healthcare & Public Sector Projects

The New Balfour Hospital

Streamline's Northern Isles experience includes logistics support associated with the New Balfour Hospital project in Orkney, helping support the development of critical healthcare infrastructure serving island communities.

NHS & Community Support

Beyond large infrastructure projects, Streamline regularly supports healthcare and community initiatives throughout Orkney and Shetland, helping ensure supplies, specialist equipment and vital resources reach remote communities when needed.

Time-Critical Project Logistics

Not every project has the luxury of time.

One business-critical project saw Streamline coordinate an urgent engineering shipment from Romania to Westray, involving multiple courier vehicles, cargo aircraft, ferries and road transport connections. Despite adverse weather and complex routing requirements, the shipment was delivered within two days to support continued operations on the island.
