When the Orkney Gin Company approached Streamline Shipping Group to transport the custom designed bottles that would hold their delicious AATTA Gin, we were given the important task of getting this fragile cargo safely from A to B – Asia to Burray.
Luckily, we operate a fully integrated haulage, transport, shipping and logistics network that spans continents, ensuring cargo gets where it needs to be safely and on time. Exactly what the Orkney Gin Company needed.
Founded in 2016, the Orkney Gin Company is a small, family-run distillery on the Isle of Burray in Orkney – known as the Broch Isle of Scapa Flow. With five signature products, quality and character are at the heart of this award-winning business. That’s why, when daughter Erin designed a bespoke bottle for their 2021 AATTA Gin, it was important to find the right company to produce and bring to life her vision.
After sourcing a team that could take on the project, owner and head distiller, Gary Watt, was tasked with transporting the finished product from their manufacturers in the far east to their distillery in the just-as-far north of Scotland. With the help of Streamline Shipping Group, the challenge certainly paid off when the team won World’s Best Bottle and World’s Best Design at the 2022 World Gin Awards.
He said: “We had previous links to the Streamline Shipping Group, who had helped us with shipping and exports to Germany. However, in September 2021, the hard work really began when we asked the team to help us transport a large container of uniquely designed bottles from our manufacturers in Asia to our island-based distillery off Scotland’s northern coast.
“With the help of Will and his team who dealt with all of the legwork – keeping us up-to-date and informed on the various logistics and customs paperwork – we were able to successfully arrange collection and delivery of our bottles.
“Now working on our third shipment with Streamline, this level of service has always remained strong. The team has continued to organise every aspect of the shipping process, from collecting the pallets from our manufacturers, to completing all necessary custom clearances from Asia through to Hamburg and then onwards to Grangemouth. Better still, they have achieved this with no damage to our fragile cargo.”
At Streamline Shipping Group we have over 200 skilled and experienced colleagues, dedicated to helping our customers. And, with clients of all sizes, industries and locations across the globe, we’ve spent over 40 years learning and building the knowledge needed to successfully manage complex, difficult jobs and answer any questions our customers throw our way.
“Streamline Shipping group has always delivered – excuse the pun – going above and beyond in their service,” Gary continued. “Shipping and logistics is a whole new world to me, but Will and his team have always laid things out in a clear, easy-to-understand way. I trust their recommendations and often use them for advice – whether it's on shipping and exports or even where to buy the best forklift!
“Streamline Shipping Group is an approachable, straightforward team that continues to go the extra mile for its customers. Throughout the last year they have been a fantastic resource, keeping me on the right track and allowing me the freedom to focus on the distillery and building the business.”
