Due to increased volumes, we have an immediate opportunity for a Terminal Tug Driver to join the Operations team at our Aberdeen depot.
This is a varied, hands on role working across our yard and Aberdeen Harbour. Previous experience working within a port/harbour environment and loading and unloading trailers onto ferries would be desirable, although we would also welcome applications from experienced tug/shunter drivers with relevant transferable experience.
Key Duties
- Operating terminal tugs and other plant and vehicles safely and efficiently
- Moving and positioning trailers within our yard and Aberdeen Harbour
- Loading and unloading trailers onto and off ferries
- Manoeuvring trailers safely within busy terminal and yard environments
- Assisting with the strapping and unstrapping of loads where required
- Carrying out general yard duties and supporting the wider Operations team
- Ensuring all work is carried out safely and in accordance with Company procedures
Qualifications/Requirements
- HGV Class 1 licence (Category C+E) – essential
- Previous experience loading/unloading ferries is desirable
- Previous terminal tug, shunter or yard experience would be advantageous
- Forklift Operator's licence would be advantageous
- A strong awareness of health and safety
- A reliable, flexible and team focused approach
- Willingness to work overtime when required
Hours & Benefits
- 40 hours per week
- Working week rostered within the depot's normal operating hours of Monday to Friday, 07.00hrs to 19.00hrs
- Weekend working is also required
- Overtime available depending on operational requirements
